This article is a step-by-step guide to set up a website 100% same as The Fox Times III demo, a New York Times-inspired WordPress demo for The Fox theme.
Table of Contents
1/ Purchase and install The Fox theme
Times III is a demo among many other demos by The Fox WordPress theme for newspaper. So the first step is to purchase Fox theme here, and follow instruction to install it here.
2/ Install necessary plugins
Make sure that you have installed necessary plugins
- Elementor Page Builder (mandatory)
- FOX Framework (mandatory)
- Contact Form 7 (optional)
- Mailchimp for WP (optional)
If you haven’t installed or activated those plugins, please visit Dashboard > Fox Magazine > Install Plugins to do so.
3/ Import demo content
Please go to Dashboard > Fox Magazine > Import Demo, you’ll see a list of demos, then choose to import Times III demo.
4/ Import Elementor Settings
After importing demo, your site should look like this:
It’s only 95% like the demo (social icons, buttons.. not same as demo). You can stop here and start editing your site, but if you want it 100%, you’ll need a further step: to import Elementor settings.
Step 1: Download this zip file.
Step 2: Go to Dashboard > Elementor > Tools > Import/Export Kit > Start import
Step 3: Upload your file times3-elementor-settings.zip and Next, Next.. until you see this screen.
Your site is now looking 100% same as demo. You can start customizing your site.
5/ Customize Site Header
To customize the site header, please go to Dashboard > [FOX] Blocks > Header and choose to Edit with Elementor.
Please note: Times III uses Header builder (with Elementor) so you can’t replace your logo in Customize > Header > Logo as classic header. Instead, while editing with Elementor, you’ll see FOX Logo element and you can replace your logo there.
Customize Site Footer
Same as the header, please go to Dashboard > FOX Blocks > Footer and start editing your site footer there in Elementor.
Customize the site
While this is the same as other demos and in discipline of customizing The Fox theme, you can read the entire Fox documentation to learn more.
